Reparations Café: Diasporic Connections: Healing Across Borders
Date: Sunday, June 8th, 2025
Time: 12:30-2:00 PM ET / 6:30-8:00 PM CEST
Location: Online via Zoom (link provided upon registration)
Join Black Exhale for our June Reparations Café session exploring the ways we learned to survive globally as we continue to hold an international container. In this Juneteenth month gathering, we'll explore how Black people across the diaspora have developed different strategies for protection, adaptation, and joy.
Through carefully facilitated dialogue and embodied practices, we'll witness the resourcefulness, wisdom, or wounds embedded in our varied survival strategies. From the ways we learned to move through hostile spaces to the pure magic we create through self-expression and celebration, we'll create space to honor both our individual adaptations and our collective brilliance.
This session is designed as an intentional space for Black peoples in the diaspora to gather in collective healing. When we come together with the intention of witnessing, the field we create becomes a strong resource for everyone individually.
Facilitated by Antoinette Cooper and Jaden Ramsey, this intimate session creates room for:
The wisdom that lives in our collective body
The strength that flows through our ancestral connections
The healing that emerges when we witness and are witnessed
The restoration that becomes possible through intentional gathering
Practices to carry forward into daily life
Registration: RSVP at cafe.blackexhale.org
Please note: This is a space created specifically for Black peoples in the diaspora. RSVP is required as spaces are limited to ensure a supportive environment.
