"Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson" Community Tour

Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2026 @ 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM EST
Location: Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY

Join Black Exhale and One Hundred Black Men for an exclusive guided Community Tour of "Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson"—the first major museum retrospective of master printmaker, painter, and sculptor John Wilson (1922-2015).

This isn't just a museum tour—it's an act of witness. Wilson created art as testimony, rendering Black humanity with empathy and unflinching honesty across six decades. From self-portraits painted when museums excluded Black people, to prints imagining integrated futures before Rosa Parks, to rare depictions of Black fatherhood—Wilson's work invites us to see what could otherwise be overlooked.

This exhibition closes February 8, 2026.

This private community tour creates sanctuary space for the BIPOC community to collectively bear witness.

Registration: RSVP at join.blackexhale.org/johnwilson
Please note: This is a private tour on a non-public museum day, limited to 25 participants. Admittance permitted only for those who RSVP. Late arrivals may not be granted entry.
