Reparations Café: UN Special Event

Reparations Café: Embodied Integration for Reparatory Justice
A Special Side Event for the UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent

Date: Wednesday, April 16th, 2025
Time: 6:30-8:00 PM ET
Location: Online via Zoom (link provided upon registration)

Black Exhale is honored to host a special Reparations Café as an official side event for the Fourth Session of the UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent. This year's forum theme is "Africa and people of African descent: United for reparatory justice in the age of Artificial Intelligence."

This 90-minute virtual session creates sanctuary to collectively process and integrate discussions of reparatory justice through guided somatic practices, facilitated dialogue, and witnessing exercises. Led by trained facilitators Antoinette Cooper and Jaden Ramsey, the session provides essential integration before the forum's final day.

"Without inner change there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters." —Rev. angel Kyodo williams

This model of reparations-in-practice offers practical tools that can be implemented in your communities and policy work beyond the forum. Whether you're participating in the UN Forum or simply seeking to engage with reparatory justice work in a trauma-informed way, this space offers a unique opportunity for embodied integration.

Registration: RSVP at cafe.blackexhale.org

Please note: This is a space created specifically for Black peoples in the diaspora. RSVP is required as spaces are limited to ensure a supportive environment.
