Voices of the Ancestors: An Evening with Mara the Storyteller

  • Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) 120 East 125th Street New York, NY, 10035 United States (map)

Join master storyteller Mara Menzies for an enchanting journey to Panga ya Saidi cave in Kenya, site of a 78,000-year-old burial that cradles the essence of human perseverance and African spirituality. Through mesmerizing narratives, Mara will explore our folklore, mythology, and connection to nature, bridging cultures and generations.

Presented in partnership with CCCADI, we'll gather in the Byenveni exhibition space, surrounded by contemporary Haitian Diasporic art. Experience the power of oral tradition and honor the stories that have shaped us for millennia.
